Freeform
I feel like I’m getting more done lately. Work at Access Tucson has been going well, and now that the website is up, I’m free to do the other projects I’ve been putting off.
My personal tax stuff is going pretty slowly this year – getting the business stuff done is taking quite a while, because I did much more business than last year, and I also have Matt’s stuff as well. I guess that’s the price to pay for success. I really should get an accountant or something.
I’ve been reading up on Rails. I think I could very easily get into it, and it would greatly improve how quickly I could develop am interactive website. I’m in a “I need to work smarter, and therefore I need to learn stuff” mood, which sometimes gets in the way with slogging through the accounting stuff.
It rained a bit today. I’m praying it rains more – we really need it.
My Grandparents are in town for my sister’s birthday – she turns 25 next monday. We had burgers and brats on the grill last night, and sat around talking for a while afterwards.
That reminds me – the grill! It finally arrived (via amazon.com – we ordered it months ago as my birthday present), and it works great – it’s the smallest model that Ducane makes, which is still large enough to cook 8 large hamburgers simultaneously. My parents have a nearly identical, if 10 years older, model which works fine, and still looks great because it’s made of cast aluminium, which is rust-resistant.
Amy and I went to the Tohono Chul Park plant sale today, and bought 9 plants for the back yard. The best thing about the sale was seeing how the plants there are doing compared to the ones we already owned – we thought that some of our plants had died, but in some cases, their plants were doing just as bad or worse, so therefore we think that either our plants are ok, or that even the people at the park weren’t able to keep them alive.
Well, back to work.
